MEGALODON TOOTH 11x14 (MF-2)

Eastern USA (about 20 mya), 11" x 14"

This is an authentic, fossilized tooth of what is widely considered to be the largest predator that ever lived. This prehistoric ancestor to the modern Great White Shark is estimated to have grown to over 60 feet in length. It lived about 20 million years ago during the Miocene epoch. Fossilized remains of this shark have been found on every continent suggesting that Megalodon ruled the oceans the world over. They are thought to have became extinct due to the climate change about 5 million years ago.
